A MESSAGE FROM OUR VICAR GENERAL

In his first Mass as Pope, our new pontiff reminded us that we are “called to bear witness to our joyful faith.” In that spirit, it is my great pleasure to invite all Archdiocesan clergy and staff to a celebration and liturgy marking the election of Pope Leo XIV at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 at Rate Field, with Mass at 4pm.

We have been touched by the outpouring of good wishes from all who, like Pope Leo, call Chicago home and particularly from people beyond our faith community who heard his call for peace. We hope you will join us for this festive occasion and will distribute this invitation widely. All are welcome to share in our excitement and to offer prayers for his pontificate. We promise a joyous event and an inspiring liturgy.

We will share additional details soon. We look forward to seeing you and your families, friends and colleagues in June.

May God bless Pope Leo XIV and may the Holy Spirit draw all of us together to pray for him now and throughout his papacy. Long live the Pope!
