Lent

Lent is a season of intention—a time to slow down, return to God, and renew our hearts as we journey toward Easter. Lent is a season of renewal, healing and hope—to pray more intentionally, live more simply, love more generously and rediscover God’s presence in our daily lives.
The Significance of Lent

Lent is a 40-day season of spiritual preparation that invites Catholics to pause, reflect, and renew their relationship with Jesus. Representing the 40 days Jesus spent in the desert fasting and resisting temptation, this time creates an opportunity to prepare ourselves for the Resurrection through the three pillars of Lent: praying, fasting, and almsgiving.

Praying to hear God’s voice and seek His mercy

Fasting to practice self-discipline and spiritual cleansing

Almsgiving to share our blessings with those in need

All parishioners are encouraged to adhere to the Lenten regulations of abstinence, fasting, and almsgiving by abstaining from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays of Lent, fasting from behaviors that don't serve us or God, and sharing our blessings with those less fortunate.
