Please bring your hotel or travel sized toiletries to the wicker basket behind the left pews in the back of the church. St. Josaphat volunteers deliver them to the women in need at Sarah's Circle. Note that Sarah's Circle does not accept children's items, furniture or clothing but they need and appreciate toiletries. Thank you for your support of this mission.
We always appreciate volunteers who can transport (approximately once a month) the items that we collect from St. Josaphat to Sarah's Circle at 4838 N Sheridan Road. They are open M-F 9a-4:30p to receive donations. Just contact us at the Parish Office and let us know if you would like to help.
About Sarah's Circle...
In the fall of 2014, Sarah's Circle case managers noticed that program participants who lacked funds for ID's, application fees, and security deposits often just missed housing opportunities. Sarah's Circle developed a pilot program to cover the difference. The pilot was so successful in moving women into housing that it is now a permanent program. Their ultimate goals as both an organization and a society are the elimination of homelessness and the empowerment of women.
Today, Sarah’s Circle offers a variety of services – comprehensive physical services, permanent supportive housing, clinical services, a network of resources, and a community – to over 900 women a year who are affected by homelessness. We encourage women to empower themselves by rebuilding both emotionally and physically; realizing their unique potential as women.
